Surrounded by the  stunning raw elegance of high desert, in a 111 year-old ranch house, just outside of Patagonia, Arizona, Margaret and Bob live, with Cody and Pupino, two intelligent dogs, one big one small, and with Tiger, their calico cat.

Margaret first heard of Mindful Self-Compassion from her sister. Together they took the course in the form of a 5-day Intensive, in December 2014, at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center in California.

Born loving life, encountering the trials of life, and suffering trauma, major depression, and the seeming loss of precious years of living life fully, this practice of Mindful Self-Compassion opens my heart to include trials, loving life again, and loving myself. It is possible to be compassionate toward others before, or even without, being compassionate toward oneself, however compassion is genuine, authentic, and more natural when oneself is not excluded!
